It definitely feels awkward to look down the lens of a camera and try to act natural. We don't really know how to do it ourselves, and it takes practice to learn how to coach other people too look fancy, and capture both a natural and beautiful look. The best way to practice is on our own little family, in our own bed room. These portraits are taken with a backlight from the window, and the tripod set up on our bed. The more we do, the better we get, and hope to include photos similar to this in sessions with other families.
